The past two years have been harder than ever for next generation designers to get started in business and gain both industry experience and support. With the return of in-person events, RawAssembly and its incredible partners are launching the Next Generation (Re)Think Product Awards, to help inspire, drive and support next generation circular design and innovation within our region.
Emerging Australian & New Zealand fashion/textile/Interior and bio-material innovators and designers are invited to apply. Designers should have a clear focus on responsible, regenerative and ethical business practices and demonstrate that their products are designed for the circular economy and with both people and planet in mind.

01. Fashion & Textiles
To apply, you need to have graduated after Dec 2019 or be in your final year or currently studying for a MA or PhD. You must be either producing a product commercially on a made-to-order, limited edition basis or have a collection ready to launch commercially by May 2022 based on and adhering to SDG 12, Responsible Consumption & Production. Your product must use sustainable and regenerative textiles that have been sourced responsibly, made ethically and ideally can be traced back to their origin. We embrace innovation and encourage products to be designed with circularity in mind.
Please note that we advocate plastic-free textiles due to the climate crisis and support a move to decouple the industry from fossil fuel derived products and drastically reduce the use of these, including recycled plastics between now and 2030. We encourage applicants not to repurpose plastics into wearable textiles, instead use them for category 03.

To apply, you need to have graduated after Dec 2019 or be in your final year or currently studying for a MA or PhD. We are looking for innovators and designers who are designing products from biology and not derived from oil.
*Please note that if you are based in New Zealand we will not be able to show your products in person at our event, so other media formats will be used instead due to biosecurity.
