8% of the worlds greenhouse gases are created by the fashion & textile industry, this impact is expected to increase by 49% by 2030 and over the last 15 years, there has been a 36% decrease in the utilized lifespan of people's clothing. Although a major source of employment, most of the 60 to 75 million people employed in the global textile industry do not have contracts, fixed schedules, or access to labour laws. While these statistics can seem a world away from Australians and their fashion choices, with a population of 23.5 million and annual fashion retails sales of 21 billion dollars, Australians are the world’s second-largest consumers of fashion and textiles.
RawAssembly™ believes the only way to have a meaningful impact in such a large industry is to create a platform where only sustainable textile solutions and business practices are showcased directly to the fashion & textile industry in a way that reflects current trade events and promotes creativity.
RawAssembly is an innovative fashion & textile industry-sourcing event and digital platform, dedicated to transforming the way in which raw materials are sourced, processed, and consumed. At the heart of RawAssembly™ are two key strategies to create an impact in the fashion & textile industry. Firstly the development of responsible-sourcing opportunities in only sustainable textiles and sustainable textile business practices. The second is to educate and shape the ethical values and attitudes of the visitors and exhibitors that participate in RawAssembly™ events.

RawAssembly seeks to create opportunities for brands, manufacturers and individuals to make changes to their professional practice that promote and enhance the sustainability of the fashion and garment industry. RawAssembly aims to break the mould of the standard tradeshow and create an experience that empowers its visitors to affect change.
Continuous improvement
RawAssembly embraces the idea that no one is perfect and that at best, we are all on a journey of continuous improvement. RawAssembly aims to connect with the widest range of individuals and organisations that are on their own path of commitment towards greater sustainability. RawAssembly believes that by accepting and respecting different stages towards greater sustainability, the industry can develop better-shared commitment.
Collaboration
RawAssembly recognises Collaboration as a process of working together to create something new in support of a shared vision. RawAssembly also recognises that our collective commercial interests cannot only be enhanced through effective collaboration but is a necessity when we consider the environmental and ethical impact of the fashion and garment industries. RawAssembly aims to unite stakeholders under a vision of an industry that we can all be proud of and one that is not competitive at the expense of our ethical or environmental future.

RawAssembly acknowledges the ongoing connection to country of the traditional custodians of the beautiful region from where we operate, the Kabi Kabi people. We pay our respect to elders past, present and emerging.
The indigenous people of Australia have a rich culture stretching back at least 50,000 years making it the oldest living culture on Earth.
Every part of Australia is Aboriginal country and every part of that country has a series of stories and experiences that are unique to that place.
What connects all indigenous people is a strong connection to its natural environment, landscapes and past and future generations.
Noosa and the surrounding area is home to the Kabi Kabi people whose land stretches roughly 100km south and 150km north of Noosa. We pay our respects to the traditional owners of this land – past, present and future – and their rich history.
